Gender and Media

Through my blog I would like to people know that  media are also not free from gender discriminations. If we justify carefully and think critically I think we can found how gender is discriminated through their representation in media.

About Gender Discrimination in Media

Emerald says:

I live in the United States and I see a lot of gender stereotyping as well in our media, especially on TV ads and Internet ads. I think it gives an unfair version of women as sex objects instead of showing who they are. We have the Super Bowl ads and they are the worst because they treat women as objects instead of people because men watch the Super Bowl and that is supposedly how they see women.

This is an example of bad advertising with women during a Burger King commerical.
The woman is seen as a sex object only to sell a product–burgers, which has nothing to do with the woman.
Corporations control our media so it doesn’t really voice the people’s views at all.
